Prior to joining Global Arena Research Institute in 2018, Annina completed a PhD thesis in contemporary history titled “From Goulash to Fridges: Individual Consumption between Eigensinn and political dominance in socialist Hungary (1956-1989)”. She holds a master degree in history and philosophy from Humboldt University of Berlin, and has previously worked in journalism, NGOs and research institutions in Budapest, Cape Town and Berlin. When Annina is not working on new GARI research projects, she is an avid lecturer on state socialism at Charles University Prague and other academic institutions.
