Whom we want to take on:

  • Digest Writer

    • Writing the pieces for the digest as well as researching new topics and areas

    • Reading all news globally from at least 15 sources and across disciplines (politics, science, technology, economy, development, security, innovation, business and more)

  • Digest Editor

    • Classic bi-weekly digest editor, putting together the pieces, fact checking/editing the writing and balancing the topics and areas of review

  • Digest Coordinator

    • Will coordinate the researchers, writers, deadlines, topics and logistical procedures for publishing and outreach, as well as our readers.

    • Managing MailChimp 

    • Creating, updating, and sending campaigns in addition to updating contact lists
       

Criteria

  • Masters or PhD level, we will accept Bachelor level if the candidate is exceptional

  • Areas of Technology, Science, Research, EU policy, Politics, International Relations, Globalisation, Geopolitics

  • A strong sense of cross-disciplinarity, interest & knowledge in multiple fields

  • We are looking for someone who will dedicate a minimum of 15 hours a week for research and writing - ideally full time traineeship

GARI is looking for someone energetic and confident that will research and gather available data on international flows, create a robust database, identify trends and correlate these trends with each other and with significant developments in these countries.

 

Criteria

  • Position can be remote (From the Central European region) however we prefer on-site researchers (Czech Republic)

  • Masters or PhD level, we will accept Bachelor level if the candidate is exceptional

  • Academic or work experience in data mining, data source identification and data analysis.

  • We are looking for someone who will dedicate a minimum of 10 hours a week for this research.

REDEFINE NEXT 100 COORDINATOR

ReDefine Next 100 brings together international leaders under 35 from diverse fields including humanities, social sciences, engineering, medicine, computing science, art and the natural sciences. International teams identify the issue they perceive to be the paramount global challenge in the future. Teams incorporate innovative ideas from various fields and propose a way to address their selected challenge. Selected teams come to Prague and develop the project, top teams then return to present at the Next 100 Symposium.  

 

Criteria

  • Candidate must be living in the Czech Republic between August and May 2020-21.

  • Experience in project leadership, team leadership and administration is required.

  • We are looking for someone who will dedicate a minimum of 10 hours a week to full-time.

  • Must be available full-time for the first two weeks of November, as well as from 1 - 28, May.

 

Tasks

  • ReDefine N100 Alumni framework and network coordination

  • Partner and sponsor outreach and maintenance

  • ReDefine N100 2020 global call for applications coordination

Communications/Digital Marketing

 

The Global Arena Research Institute is looking

for a Communications/Digital Marketing intern.

This role includes team leadership.

 

 

This traineeship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of the Next 100 Symposium communications plan. On the 26 - 27th May 2021, N100 will bring together the most progressive minds in the technological and computing fields with influential social scientists and thinkers to discuss rising challenges to the global order. In doing so, it will launch a dialogue on all levels about how to use innovative computing capabilities to address challenges being dealt with in the social scientific sphere. GARI will also be hosting the ReDefine Next 100 global youth programme, where 28 inspiring young individuals from all over the world combine the social sciences and technology & innovation and create the projects of the future.

 

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Create and implement online campaigns (SEO, Google Adwords, social media…)  for GARI, N100 and ReDefine

  • Learning about best practices and tips of campaigns & newsletters

  • Creating, updating upon reports, and sending Wix campaigns 

  • Updating and managing contact lists

  • Monitor web and social media analytics to identify viable ideas and trends

  • Create engaging social media content

  • Assist in the general distribution of press releases and media alerts

  • Updating web content and GARI/N100 Bulletin (Newsletter)

  • Learning about best practices and tips of newsletters

  • Managing MailChimp

Qualifications:

  • Educational background in Digital Marketing, Communications, or other relevant fields of study

  • Prior experience in event communications/marketing/social media

  • An interest in technology and social sciences (politics, the economy, globalisation) is a big plus

  • Skills in website editing in Wix and basic graphic design would be an asset

  • Design event brochures and programs. This will include pre-event, event and post-event materials.

  • Create attractive and compelling pitch decks and leave-behind materials for meetings

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing degree in communication design, graphic design, or other applicable field of study

  • Software proficiency in and access to: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Office

The Global Arena Research Institute is looking for an Event Manager trainee for the Next 100 Symposium

Projects to work on:

  • Next 100 Symposium (May 2021)

  • “mini” N100 events abroad (Geneva, Munich, Vienna)

  • Youth program: ReDefine Next 100 programme management

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Event planning, design and production while managing all project delivery elements within time limits

  • Liaise with partners to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Conduct market research, gather information and negotiate partnerships prior to closing any deals

  • Provide feedback and periodic reports to supervisors

  • Propose ideas to improve event quality

  • Organize facilities and manage all event’s details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc

  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations

  • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities

  • Cooperate with marketing and PR to promote and publicize the event

  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day

  • Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes

The Global Arena Research Institute is looking for a Researcher

The GARI researcher position is a fluid role that involves furthering GARI’s central research projects as well as aiding in the day-to-day functions of the Institute. Researchers’ tasks include a diverse set of responsibilities including both traditional academic and marketing research on subjects including historical, economic, and political events, as well as trade flows, energy, and technological innovation. Research may also include quantitative data collection and analysis. Data sourced from online databases and publicly available reports from private corporations and international organizations are also utilized in GARI’s projects.
