Criteria

  • All positions can be remote and from anywhere in the world

  • Masters or PhD level, we will accept Bachelor level if the candidate is exceptional

  • Areas of Technology, Science, Research, EU policy, Politics, International Relations, Globalisation, Geopolitics

  • A strong sense of cross-disciplinarity, interest & knowledge in multiple fields

  • We are looking for someone who will dedicate a minimum of 15 hours a week for research and writing

 

Process

V4 CARE ARSEC RESEARCHER/DATA MINER

The goal of the V4 CARE ARSEC project is to gather available data on international flows of V4 countries, Germany and Austria, create a robust database, identify trends and correlate these trends with each other and with significant developments in these countries. This should create a solid foundation for future more theory-informed work such as creating stock-flow consistent models and their confrontation with available data. The ultimate goal of this endeavour is to develop an approach useful for real-world policy-making and business decisions since the models should inform the policy-makers and entrepreneurs of the likely results of their actions.

 

Criteria

  • Position can be remote (From the Central European region) however we prefer on-site researchers (Czech Republic)

  • Masters or PhD level, we will accept Bachelor level if the candidate is exceptional

  • Academic or work experience in data mining, data source identification and data analysis.

  • We are looking for someone who will dedicate a minimum of 10 hours a week for this research.

GARI is looking for someone energetic and confident that will research, reach out to and manage major partners and sponsors for the Next 100 Symposium, the ReDefine Next 100 global youth program and other activities and projects of the Global Arena Research Institute.

Tasks:

  • research potential partners and sponsors

  • contact and reach out to them

  • communication with partners and sponsors

  • logistical and administrative coordination for partner requests and arrangements

 

Who we are looking for?

  • Candidate must be living in the Czech Republic between February and November 2019

  • leader, team player

  • own incentive, drive and motivation

  • passionate about globalisation and interdisciplinarity (intersecting politics, business, technology, academics, research, etc)

  • previous communication experience - high-level professional emails, voice communication and in-person meetings

  • someone who has attention to detail, over-prepares and is very organised

  • comfortable dealing with high-level people and institutions

  • experience in drafting proposals and professional emails, experience with decks is welcome

REDEFINE NEXT 100 COORDINATOR

ReDefine Next 100 brings together international leaders under 35 from diverse fields including humanities, social sciences, engineering, medicine, computing science, art and the natural sciences. International teams identify the issue they perceive to be the paramount global challenge in the future. Teams incorporate innovative ideas from various fields and propose a way to address their selected challenge. Selected teams come to Prague and develop the project, top teams then return to present at the Next 100 Symposium.  

 

Criteria

  • Candidate must be living in the Czech Republic between February and November 2019.

  • Experience in project leadership, team leadership and administration is required.

  • We are looking for someone who will dedicate a minimum of 10 hours a week.to full-time.

  • Must be available full-time for the first two weeks of September, as well as the first three weeks in November.

  • ReDefine N100 Alumni framework and network coordination

PR & Marketing

 

The Global Arena Research Institute is looking

for a Communications/Digital Marketing intern.

Part of the role is also some team leadership.

 

This traineeship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of the Next 100 Symposium communications plan. On the 12-14th November 2019, N100 will bring together the most progressive minds in the technological and computing fields with influential social scientists and thinkers to discuss rising challenges to the global order. In doing so, it will launch a dialogue on all levels about how to use innovative computing capabilities to address challenges being dealt with in the social scientific sphere. GARI will also be hosting the ReDefine Next 100 global youth programme, where 28 inspiring young individuals from all over the world combine the social sciences and technology & innovation and create the projects of the future.

 

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Create and implement online campaigns (SEO, Google Adwords, social media…)  for GARI, N100 and ReDefine

  • Monitor web and social media analytics to identify viable ideas

  • Create engaging social media content

  • Assist in the general distribution of press releases and media alerts

  • Updating web content

  • Other tasks depending on the needs

 

Qualifications:

  • Educational background in Digital Marketing, Communications, or other relevant fields of study

  • Prior experience in event communications/marketing/social media

  • A strong knowledge of working with Excel, Google Drive and its Documents is required

  • An interest in technology and social sciences (politics, the economy, globalisation) is a big plus

  • Skills in website editing in Wix and basic graphic design would be an asset

  1. Design event brochures and programs. This will include pre-event, event and post-event materials.

  2. Create attractive and compelling pitch decks and leave-behind materials for meetings

  3. Design and produce collateral pieces: social media, email marketing, and more

  4. Create visual web content

  5. Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Pursuing degree in communication design, graphic design, or other applicable field of study

  2. Software proficiency in and access to: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Office

  3. Must present a portfolio that demonstrates graphic design capabilities

  4. Prior experience in graphic design

  5. A strong knowledge of working with Google Drive and its Documents is required (can be taught)

The Global Arena Research Institute is looking for an Event Manager trainee for the Next 100 Symposium

Projects to work on:

Next 100 Symposium & smaller events throughout the year,

Youth program: ReDefine Next 100 programme management

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Event planning, design and production while managing all project delivery elements within time limits

  • Liaise with partners to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Conduct market research, gather information and negotiate partnerships prior to closing any deals

  • Provide feedback and periodic reports to supervisors

  • Propose ideas to improve event quality

  • Organize facilities and manage all event’s details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc

  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations

  • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities

  • Cooperate with marketing and PR to promote and publicize the event

  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day

  • Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes

  • Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Proven experience as an events coordinator
