Information on the processing of your personal data for marketing and sales purposes

Please note: This Privacy Policy (together with any terms of use of the Global Arena Research Institute site and any specific privacy wording notified to you, for example when you enter your information) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to Us (as defined below), will be held and processed by Us.

Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with use of your personal data as set out in this Privacy Policy you should not submit your personal information to us.

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Please check this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure you understand the practices which will apply at that time. You should print a copy of this Privacy Policy or save it to your computer for future reference.


1. Data protection aims and legal basis 
Protecting your personal data is of the utmost importance to us. We process personal data of our clients, future clients, network firms, and partners, in accordance with current legislation on the protection of personal data and data security. In addition, we also take all necessary and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your rights and freedoms.

2. Legal basis and purpose of data processing
We process your personal data for our own marketing and sales purposes. You consent to store your email address in our database, and to use it to send you communications. These could include any of the following; newsletters, event and seminar invitations, specialist publications. Your personal data will be processed exclusively for the intended purposes listed above. Your personal data will furthermore not be subject to further processing in a way and manner that are incompatible with the intended purposes listed below.
This information is used to administer and deliver to you the products and/or services you have requested, to operate our Site efficiently and improve our services to you, and to retain records of our business transactions and communications. By using the Site and submitting personal information through the registration process you are agreeing that we may collect, hold, process and use your information (including personal information) for the purpose of providing you with the Site services and developing our business. In addition, your data could be used for any of the following purposes:
To fulfill our obligations to you; to improve the efficiency and quality of our and services; to track compliance with our terms and conditions of use, e.g. to ensure that you are acting within the scope of your user licence; for marketing purposes (subject to your rights to opt-in and opt-out of receiving certain marketing communications); for advertising purposes, although the information used for these purposes does not identify you personally. 

3. Which categories of personal data do we process?
We process the following categories of personal data: name, academic title, business address, email address, telephone number, company affiliation, and role within company.

4. Marketing & Data Use
Some of your personal data collected may be used by us to contact you by email, telephone and/or post for sending information or promotional material services. We may use the information you provide in aggregate (non-personally identifiable) form for internal business purposes, such as generating statistics and developing marketing plans. We may collect, store or accumulate certain non-personally identifiable information concerning your use of the Site, such as information regarding which of our pages are most popular. We may share or transfer non-personally identifiable information with or to our affiliates and/or partners.
We always give you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving marketing communications and will in certain circumstances need to obtain your consent before sending such communications to you. See also "Consents and opt-outs" section below.

We use information held about you in the following ways:

Information you give to us. We may use this information, including any contact details you provide:

  • to carry out our obligations arising from any application you make or any other information, products, offers and services that you request from us;

  • to provide you with information about events and initiatives we are putting on that are similar to those that you have already participated in or enquired about, including follow-up events and alumni events;

  • to seek your feedback on our events and initiatives and your experience of them;

  • to notify you about changes to our events and initiatives; and

  • to ensure that content from the Site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.

We may contact you by email, telephone or post according to what contact details you have provided and any preferences you have indicated to us.

In respect of the Next 100 Redefiners information, this will be used for the purposes of the selection of suitable candidates to participate and for administering the subsequent process, including the mentoring and workshop stages. This information will be used and shared in accordance with this policy and, if you are selected to participate, in accordance with our terms and conditions of applying. We may use this information:

  • to administer the Site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;

  • to improve the Site to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;

  • to allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so;

  • as part of our efforts to keep our Site safe and secure.

We may share your information with selected third parties including:

  • sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you (for example our IT providers);

  • analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Site;

  • selectors, judges, mentors and partners who need to see your application information for the purposes of selecting or judging an event, vote or competition;

  • other competition entrants or potential business contacts at official events for networking purposes;

  • if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply any agreement with you, or to protect our rights, property, or safety or those of any third party. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

  • If you opt to use a social media plug-in, for example to interact with us on Facebook or Twitter via the site, please be aware you will be potentially sharing your information with a third party over whom we have no control.

6. Storage period for personal data
We of course also observe the principle of storage limitation for personal data. This means that we will only process your data until you withdraw your consent. Beyond that time, we will only process your data if we are in a contractual agreement with you, or are entitled or are obliged by law to process your personal data.Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. We reserve the right, in compliant with the principle of storage limitation, to store your data within our own files as well.

 

7. Cookies

The Site uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of the Site. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse the Site and also allows us to improve the Site.

Please note that you can activate the setting on your Internet browser to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your Internet browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of the Site.

 

8. Your rights
Should you be affected by our processing of personal data, you have the right at any time to request access to, rectification, or erasure of personal data, or restriction of the processing concerning your personal data or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability. 9. Withdrawal of consent to process personal data or opt-outs
As data subject, you may withdraw your consent for us to process your personal data at any time. Please note that the withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing that took place before its withdrawal, and that in certain circumstances we are entitled or else required to process certain forms of personal data for a period extending beyond the withdrawal of consent, either due to our contractual relationship with you, or else due to legal requirements. You can also choose to opt-out from receiving emails by the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any marketing email you receive from us or by emailing us at info@globari.org.

10. Right to lodge a complaint
In case you believe that the processing of your personal data does not comply with the provisions of data protection, you can – other legal remedies in law courts or under administrative law notwithstanding – make a complaint to the competent data protection authority. In Czech Republic, this complaint shall be submitted to the Czech Data Protection Authority.
