The GARI researcher position is a fluid role that involves furthering GARI’s central research projects as well as aiding in the day-to-day functions of the Institute. Researchers’ tasks include a diverse set of responsibilities including both traditional academic and marketing research on subjects including historical, economic, and political events, as well as trade flows, energy, and technological innovation. Research may also include quantitative data collection and analysis. Data sourced from online databases and publicly available reports from private corporations and international organizations are also utilized in GARI’s projects.

This traineeship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of the Next 100 Symposium communications plan. N100 brings together the most progressive minds in the technological and computing fields with influential social scientists and thinkers to discuss rising challenges to the global order. In doing so, it will launch a dialogue on all levels about how to use innovative computing capabilities to address challenges being dealt with in the social scientific sphere. GARI will also be hosting the ReDefine Next 100 global youth programme, where 28 inspiring young individuals from all over the world combine the social sciences and technology & innovation and create the projects of the future.
Qualifications:

REDEFINE NEXT 100 COORDINATOR
ReDefine Next 100 brings together international leaders under 35 from diverse fields including humanities, social sciences, engineering, medicine, computing science, art and the natural sciences. Together they pick an area/topic (e.g. sustainable urbanism, green Europe, European Integration, Trans-Atlantic research & innovation platform/exchange) and combine their expertise.
They then imagine (realistically and based on rigorous research) the most ideal manifestation of this 5-15 years from now, the then create the roadmap, timeline, and action plan for this to become so. This will include research methodology, scenario building, variables of each field affecting that manifestation throughout the timeline, identifying key stakeholders, their role, most likely action and again, variables that may affect the roadmap and timeline, budget for initial planning including meetings, working groups, and milestone action plans/deliverables, whom do they need to get involved and how does each sector need to adapt, transform, and behave.
The ReDefine N100 groups present their vision, roadmap and action plan at the Next 100 Symposium in front of the stakeholders that have the power to follow it.
The ReDefine N100 Coordinator manages the programme.
